The Boa Ventura Cup

The elimination round of the 14th BAFET Badminton Tournament, known as The Boa Ventura Cup, was held on March 3, 2007. A total of 8 teams composed of 6 members played in the Standard Category while 8 pairs vied for the men’s doubles Open Category championship. The semis and finals were played on March 31, 2007 after three weeks of delay because of the security situation in the country and the players' availability.

The following teams emerged as winners for the Standard Category:


Champion: Amir, Darmin, Gerry and Oscar, not in above photo are Arlene and David


1st Runner Up: Sherwin, Carlos, Hashim, Florida, Amay and Charlie


2nd Runner Up: Djuarso, Elena and Edwin, not in above photo are Firman, Akhong and Jun


The Open Category finals was fought by Mas Jaya and Jack against Basri and Herman. The pair of Mas Jaya and Jack emerged as Champion for the Open Category after a grueling 1-hour battle. The pair of Hamid and Adi won the 3rd place.



The Tournament was supported by Boa Ventura, dealer of office supplies and printing jobs and Holiwono Store, dealer of construction and agricultural materials.

The awarding ceremony will be held on April 28, 2007 and it will be followed by the traditional celebration party.
